My name is Sabrina Gatlin and I’m a history major and Holocaust and Genocide studies major at Keene State College. I grew up in Hillsboro, NH. This is my second Civil War class at Keene State College, and I’m excited to learn more!

My research this semester will be focused on the disorder of American cities during and after the Civil War. I want to specifically look at the crime and incarceration rates as well as the impact of returning veterans on those figures. I am curious to see if the incarceration rate grew or declined after the war ended and what the impact of returning veterans had on their cities.
