Emily A. Maturo

My name is Emily Maturo, I’m a sophomore at Keene State College studying psychology. History has always been interesting to me especially within Civil War, so I took this course as an opportunity to learn. I was born in Brattleboro, Vermont and grew up in a small town called Wardsboro close by. I love animals, painting and drawing they all fill my soul with happiness. For the future, I intend on helping people who suffer with mental disorders such as anxiety, or depression. During the process of obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I believe taking classes that have nothing to do with your major can keep college interesting.

My research will focus on woman during the Civil War era, how they were treated, and what woman did in general. And what were their roles during the time frame of when The Civil War took place? I would also like to research about my hometown and how it was impacted or what took place during the same time frame.
